Neurofeedback – Advanced Therapy for Depression

by

Neurofeedback is a therapy which is incredibly helpful in combatting depression.

Sadly, in Scotland the statistics for depression are concerning. 12% of men and 10% of women scored two or more symptoms of depression. This means that they were moderately to severely depressed according to Symptoms of depression by gender Scotland 2022| Statista

The symptoms of depression can be mild, a restless night’s sleep, just not feeling yourself. In many cases the symptoms can be severe where the person is unable to function in their daily lives. Neurofeedback tackles the symptoms of depression. The origin of why you might be depressed is not always important when therapy begins.

The good news is that at Neurofeedback Scotland we care about your brain health and function. We have treated many clients needing help with depression. We often hear phrases like, ‘this is life changing’ and ‘I can’t believe I did do this sooner’.

In a recent study of 8 adults between the ages of 21 – 50 after 20 sessions of Neurofeedback all participants indicated and improvement in their state. You can read the full study at (PDF) P93 Effect of Infra-Low Frequency Neurofeedback on Infra-Slow EEG Fluctuations
