Therapy for Autism

by

We are often asked if neurofeedback and/or biofeedback help autism. We always say yes, emphasising that every client is unique. We’ve seen improvements in many of our clients’ clinical symptoms and also the alleviation of associated symptoms like depression.  Our clients include young children and non-verbal clients.   Neurofeedback and Bio-resonance therapies are designed to offer individualised treatment options to all clients, which is an important ethos of our practice.

Autism affects the brain at the emotional core relating to social connection.  In autism there are developmental flaws in the structural connectivity of this emotion network.  However with neurofeedback makes this network accessible for strengthening its connectivity.  Neurofeedback works very well with children due to the flexibility of their brains, helping to mitigate the development of unwanted behaviours.  The reduced need for interaction in our sessions can also be an attraction for younger, non-verbal or socially anxious clients.

It’s well-documented that the gut plays a major role in autism.  This may be related to the gut-brain connection or behaviours around diet and eating.  Both effect brain function and can be detected with bio-resonance.  A non-invasive, natural therapy if often preferred by our autistic clients, especially children who may not be able to sit still during neurofeedback.  Therefore where desired, we can work with both therapies to identify physiological issues implicated in autism, including vaccine injury or medication overload, allergies or toxins.  We can also help with some issues which may be difficult to communicate such as emotional or physical pain.  We’d recommend, where possible, that a close person plays a supportive role in the sessions in order to help with any detox effect and the reporting process which some autistic clients may find difficult.
